Finding My Way...

12 of 12

2008 is a new year, and I have a new chance to remember to take these photos every month for a snippet of everyday life...

Check out Chad for the scoop on 12 of 12, it's his baby.  I just heard about it from my pal Susan...

The 12th was a Saturday this month, so it was a casual day...

9:27am - Em's watching some Saturday morning cartoonage

9:42am - Kittens are frisky!  Jack's chasing his tab toy on the stairs

9:43am - Can't take a pic of Jack and not get Macy too!

10:03am - The outfit my Mom bought for my cousin's new daughter - isn't it adorable?

10:38am - I am so happy with this flea market find...my Mom helped me hang it up in my kitchen.

10:45am - Time to get on the stick and clean up my room.  While I dust, take a look at some of the books I'm reading or getting ready to read...

1:13pm - Done with my room (and a light lunch) it's time to tackle the girl's room.  She needs a little purge before we unpack the rest of the Christmas presents. Thank goodness for whoever invented Sterilite.

2:02pm - I'm cooking dinner for the fam tonight.  Cousins and in-laws meeting up at my father-in-law's house.  Here's the ingredients for my ham glaze and scalloped potatoes.

 

3:03pm - Ham is in the oven, need some more pics...how about the assorted magnets on my FILs fridge?

5:01pm - Dinner is about finished.  My nephew has just had tremendous fun taking Grandaddy's newspaper and scattering it section by section!

6:23pm - Dinner is done, and Em wants more pics of her.  I'm skipping the pics of her in the tub (sorry perv patrol), but she insisted on posing with her chocolate ice cream.

6:24pm - The evening is winding down, the kids are almost finished with dessert, and my FIL is relaxing in the family room.

That's is for this month!  Keep reminding me Susan, I'll get better!

I just remembered about 12 of 12.  Argh!

I forgot 12 of 12 AGAIN.  A friend even reminded me the day before.  I forgot last month too.  I am so ticked at myself!  I really wanted to do it each month this year and use the photos to create a "Day in the Life/Year in the Life" sort of album at the end of the year.

*sigh*

Since I always seem to remember 2-3 days later, maybe I should start doing 15 of 15...  :eye roll:

Here are my photos for September:

7:30 am

Started the day folding the towels for Em's bathroom.  Love these colors! Being that it was my birthday, that was the only housework I did for the rest of the day!  ;o)

10:45 am

Went to Panera for brunch with my husband, who sweetly took the day off of work to spend the day with me. I *love* soup in a sourdough bread bowl.

12:00 noon

Hubby and daughter treated me to a massage at the spa.  There is a new message therapist there who is AWESOME.  The only thing that's ever made my back feel better was a chiropractic adjustment.  I threw in a pedicure for good measure.

2:00 pm

Relaxed & refreshed with freshly painted piggies.  OPI has the best names for their polishes.  This one is "Don't Be Koi With Me" - a lovely orange that matched the shirt I was wearing.

2:30 pm

There's my chauffeur for the day!  I rarely let my husband drive my van (call it the control freak in me) unless I'm not in it! (That car accident 15 years ago really did a number on me...)

3:05 pm

Time to get the little one from school and get her on board the birthday party train!  This little vest from Target is the CUTEST, and she loves to wear it.

3:20 pm

 

Em's school asked for goofy/fun photos of the kids reading for a bulletin board saying that kids from her school are READiculous. Since I had the camera out today anyways, I snapped this photo idea I had of her reading up in the tree in our front yard.

3:55 pm

The doorbell rings and I can't possibly imagine who it can be.  I open the door to find a delivery person bearing flowers from some dear friends of mine.  They are beautiful, and brighten my table quite a bit. When I IM'ed my friend to thank her, she suggested I tell hubby they were from a secret admirer.

5:45 pm

Went to Macaroni Grill for dinner, and finished the delicious meal with some more than decadent chocolate cake.  Taking a cue from our server, I wrote myself a little message on the table paper with the provided crayons!

7:00 pm

Time to tuck the princess into bed.  A kiss and a zerbertz for each of us, then I read her a few chapters of Junie B. Jones, First Grader (at last!).  Though she begged for more, I insisted she wait until tomorrow for more of the story.

7:22 pm

As I come down the hall from Em's room, I smile as I note this print on the wall.  It belongs to my Mom, but she doesn't have a spot for it at the moment.  I mentioned how much I love it, and she loaned it to me.  I don't know it's proper name, but I call it "Ellis Island".

7:26 pm

With the munchkin tucked in and all appointments completed, I now have a little time to relax and play some games on Pogo.  Faves are QWERTY and Shuffle Bump.
